Week 3 Branding and First Impressions

A brand is a name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller’s good or service as distinct from those of other sellers” (American Marketing Association). When you think of specific company products, services, and activities, you can consider a brand as the idea or image that people have both practically (e.g., the 'shoe is light weight') and emotionally (e.g., 'the shoe is stronger for me'). It is therefore not only the physical characteristics that create a brand but also consumers' feelings about the company or its product. When the name, logo, visual identity, or even message is conveyed, this combination of physical and emotional indications is triggered.

For example the Tech conglomerate company, Apple. I remember when I first got my Apple product which was the iPod. To this day I still have the same iPod which made me fall in love with technology and made me turn into an official Appleboy.  Of all the other competitors Microsoft, Dell, HP, etc, I still choose Apple over everything.
